Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated on Thursday that the Resistance does not have any enemies on the internal scene in Lebanon.

He said during a Ramadan iftar: “Our only enemy is Israel and we don’t have enemies in Lebanon, except sides that we differ with politically.”

The Israeli air force has begun using unmanned aircraft to conduct surveillance and reconnaissance missions over Israeli gas fields in the Mediterranean Sea out of fear that they will be targeted by Hizbullah, The Jerusalem Post reported on Tuesday.

The Israeli daily said the decision to deploy the drones came after the Shiite party warned Israel that it would protect Lebanon’s maritime sovereignty.

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is expected to deliver a televised speech at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on the latest developments in Lebanon, Hizbullah’s Media Relations Department announced.

Nasrallah will deliver his speech on the fifth anniversary of July 2006 war. The “Dignity and Victory” rally will be held at al-Raya Stadium in Beirut’s Southern Suburbs.

The predominantly Shiite town of Lassa in the Jbeil district has been transformed into a Hizbullah military base, informed sources told al-Joumhouria daily on Wednesday.

The sources said that the Shiite party dig tunnels, set up shelters in the town and installed cameras that would take photos of vehicles and drivers.

He noted that the cabinet’s recent agreement on various appointments in state positions is a sign of the productivity it is aspiring for.

Hizbullah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem on Sunday noted that "WikiLeaks documents have revealed the presence of militias in Lebanon that sought to acquire arms in order to incite sedition and civil war."

"This is what was being plotted in May 2008, according to these documents," Qassem went on to say.

Hizbullah MP Nawaf Moussawi accused the March 14 forces of seeking to avenge the March 8 coalition, mainly Hizbullah and Amal, by pitting southerners against each other over illegal construction on state property.

Moussawi told As Safir daily in remarks published Thursday that March 14, led by al-Mustaqbal movement, sought to “ignite sectarian strife” by pitting neighbors against each other and stirring animosity within the same family members.

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem noted on Friday that there was nothing worth responding to at the March 14 rally last Sunday, saying that the party “has not and will not do so.”

He said: “We are not concerned with what they said and what happened at the event.”

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated on Tuesday that political life in Lebanon will not come to a halt with the March 14 camp’s refusal to take part in the new government.

He said after holding talks with Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon Juan Carlos Gafo and a number of ambassadors from Latin America: “We refuse for political life in Lebanon to be obstructed for the sake of some sides.”

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed on Thursday that the new majority in Lebanon did not prevent the March 14 camp from taking part in the new government.

He said: “We called for partnership from the start and we did not alter this position, but what is left of the March 14 camp rejected this partnership … They eliminated themselves from the new government and they have to assume the responsibility of their choice and not hold the new majority accountable for it.”
